Coming from the yoyo community to the balisong community, I see tap as a form of "vibe" in yoyos. Vibe in yoyos isn't a big deal until you get an actual pulsing vibe in them. Then it actually affects play. Likewise, tap doesn't really affect balisongs until it gets to the point of blade rub. Then, it's a problem. People are just really picky and think that you need an actually perfect product in order for it to perform properly. Which is very incorrect.

As a yoyo player, kendama player, balisong player, spintop player, skateboarder, begleri player, juggler, unicyclist, etc..etc... I totally agree that they are skilltoys. That's the entire reason that I got into them. It wasn't because they were knives. It was because I could do cool tricks with them. And, I like doing cool tricks with things.

First balisong was a CCC called the "jaguar classic" had it for years and didn't really learn any tricks outside of the basic opening and closing. Got back into the hobby as an adult and bought a BM51 from BHQ in 2018

I actually have the tater one. I used to use it constantly to show people what i can do but after like 3 months of use and never dropping it the pun that prevents the blade from pivoting when it is open broke off and i cut my finger.

My first Balisong was the Bionic osi from balisong flipping and it was one of the worst choices for a first balisong or any balisong for that matter that i could have gotten. My experience with it was constant tap no matter how many times I've tightened it after 2 days of use, so as a beginner I ruined it putting loctite in incorrectly and ended up giving it permanent tap. literally a month later it broke, the blade snapped right in half, redering it unlflippable. I had fallen victim to Balisong flipping shilling the hell out of it and paying other UA-camrs to say good things about it (he actually did that how shitty). i wish i had just bought a vulp.

could you talk about these knew amazon live blades. on amazon theres like a new company selling live blades the way that the nabalis canyons come(they are listed as a wrench but theyre an actual live blade balisong) they look cool but it would be cool for you to talk about (in my opinion)

I'm now torn on buying a 2nd one as a backup because I'm going to ware this thing out, or getting the pro... best bali I have so far, hands down.. how is this thing so inexpensive?? well done good sir Question... is there any chance you'll offer the Vulp Pro with the Teflon coating?? If so I'll wait!

the speed-channel handles FTW on the dama blade! That is such a good match. When I had one, the blade knocked the inside of the channel. This totally solves that...well, this or a sando re-handle. Mmm. Sandwich.

As a beginner looking for my first balisong, the idea of not being able to cut myself is my number 1 priority. My fear of a trainer is getting use to something that doesn't behave the same as a proper sharp knife.

Mine came with the wrench, though the design seemed to fit the canyon instead of the vulp. I'm from the Americas don't know if that changes anything
